Economic growth in the third quarter of 2023

​​​​​​​Preliminary estimates of the quarterly national accounts show that Real gross domestic product GDP, seasonally adjusted, decreased at an annual rate of -0.2% during the third quarter of the current year (July to September 2023). In terms of quarterly changes (i.e., compared to the second quarter of 2023), real GDP increased moderately by 0.1%, while it had decreased by -1.1% in the previous quarter. Overall, GDP growth in the first nine months of 2023 is estimated at +0.7%.
In this context, domestic demand decreased by -0.4% and posted a negative contribution of 0.4 percentage points to economic growth in the third quarter (-0.2). While the external trade balance contributed positively by 0.2 points, due to the increase in the volume of exports of goods and services (8.6%), which slightly exceeded that of imports (6.8%).
